NEWS : Now we are in "pre-release" period. We will release "TOKOSHIÉ" formally in September.
It is a
proposals for new style of mourning and eternity.
TOKOSHIÉ is a digital memento of your life.
I've been wondering, if I could to create eternity in our age.
It was the theme we pursued in any era, keeping me remembered forever.
People engraved name on stones, seeking eternity.
Using modern technology (mobile app),
we have made a new eternal form that allows us to contact the present and future after death.
"TOKOSHIÉ" means "eternity" in ancient Japanese.
Make digital memento by saving your videos and photos about you, you loved person and your dream in TOKOSHIÉ. Also about your secret.
If you save them in Secret Mode, video to be played on the specific day you set after you are gone.
The person you entrust, will input your passing day in "TOKOSHIÉ".
This action is called "Switch to "TOKOSHIÉ"". It's just like pass the baton of life from you to "TOKOSHIÉ".
"TOKOSHIÉ"will connect you to present world and the future after your death.
Make digital memento by saving your videos and photos in TOKOSHIÉ.
The person you entrust will input your passing day in "TOKOSHIÉ". This action is called "Switch to TOKOSHIÉ”. It is a beautiful ceremony that will pass your life to TOKOSHIÉ.
Please tell him/her who will given that you are preparing TOKOSHIÉ, passcode of mobile and TOKOSHIÉ to access.
After "Switch to TOKOSHIÉ", it will work off line. So it will get away from hustle and bustle of the internet, and your secret will be kept.
You can also save videos and photos in "Secret Mode". Your video will be played on the specific day you set after you are gone.
It's a message like a sent from "afterlife". It makes loved ones laugh and encourage them even after death.
It cannot be edited. Your history will not be tampered with.
It seems to be fun just by thinking, such as singing with future descendants 500 years later.
"Oh! A message from him!"
"Today is our wedding anniversary, I love you forever, my sweet heart!"
"He's never said that kind of thing while he was arrive. Thank you, honey."
(Because Japanese guy too shy to say it.)
Jug jug jug-jug!
"This is my ancestor. He was living thousand years ago. Look! He's playing the guitar singing along!"
"Cool sound! Let's play with him!!"
"A session played beyond the time!!"
Putting content in "TOKOSHIÉ" is nothing but preparation for death.
There is a possibility that "TOKOSHIÉ" can change the preparation for death, or even "death" itself, to a little more fun.
It makes your loved ones laugh and encourage them even after death.
Such preparation is exciting.
Will be used your mobile as a platform, so person who gives will feel closer to you.
After your death, TOKOSHIÉ will work off line.
So it will get away from hustle and bustle of the internet, and your secret will be kept.
My name is Masami Takeuchi.
I am the originator of this mobile app TOKOSHIÉ.
Making TOKOSHIÉ was almost completed by 2014. But since I had a stroke in 2016 (on 24th Dec.!), it had been postponed for my being hospitalized and having rehabilitation. My right side body is still paralyzed and a language disorder. It was a passion (pain) for me, but it was also an opportunity to face death.
I am a Theremin player originally. I moved to Russia to learn Theremin 27years ago. There were few performers in Japan at the time. Theremin was less than an instrument, and it was thought that theremin cannot do music.
Raised a students, I have made the matryoshka-shaped Theremin "Matryomin". In 2013, we have set the world record “The largest Theremin Ensemble" by 272 Matryomin players at the first time.
TOKOSHIÉ is new challenge for me!
Q. What does "TOKOSHIÉ" mean?
A. “Eternity" in ancient Japanese.
Q. What type of mobile can I use?
A. It is intended for iOS (iPhone 5 or later (excluding 5, 5c), iOS: 12.4 or later. iPad not applicable). Android will be supported after the official release (scheduled for September 2020).
Q. I have many pictures and videos. How much is it possible to import?
A. It is hard to bring everything to afterlife. Choose and import videos and photos that are important to you.
Q. With my mobile, I can set it up to "December 31, 9999". Is the mobile still working until then?
A. I do not know too. I look forward to future technologies.
Q. Is it meaningful to make "TOKOSHIÉ" for those who have no recipients?
A. Let's say you have a membership salon or something like an "TOKOSHIÉ cemetery”. After you die, you put your “TOKOSHIÉ”, and members can view. It is said that there are as many dramas as there are people, but if you watch each "TOKOSHIÉ", you will be touched by the joy and sadness of that person's life, and it will be interesting enough to surpass poor entertainment.
I also have no children, but the ashes are scattered on the sea by natural burial, and if the proof that I lived remains in "TOKOSHIÉ", I am satisfied.
Q. Is there a reason why you don't connect to the internet after switch to "TOKOSHIÉ"?
A. I think that the reason for connecting to the Internet is to expect a connection on SNS. Looking at the noise of today's SNS, I am worried about the future of SNS. As a revenge, it is possible to falsely accuse someone alive. What the dead person says is often taken as truth, I'm worried that "TOKOSHIÉ" will appear to work together as a result of such malicious intent.
Also, no matter how you strengthen security, it is a system created by people, so if someone who understands the construction, it will be hacked. If you do not have a connection to the Internet, your contents will not leak outside unless you forget or drop it somewhere.
